Anthony Weller Notice
Weller Anthony Textile Manufacturer,
died aged 69.

Tony was born the
15th of January 1952 in the Duke of York Wing Bradford Royal Infirmary,
the eldest son of Sam and Freda Weller.
Educated at Rossfield school in Heaton, then Earnseat Prep School, Cumbria, and finally, Rydal School in Colwyn Bay North Wales. After studying Textiles at Bradford Technical College his first job
was with Associated Weavers, before moving into the family business,
Sam Weller and Sons, specialist Cotton Weavers, based in
Bradford and Holmfirth.
On 4th September 1976 Tony married Ann Love. They would enjoy a
marriage of over 44 years,
having four children, James, Suzanne, and twins, Philip and Richard.
Along with his brother Christopher, Tony took over the running of the family business in 1992 following the retirement of their father. Taking responsibility of the sales arm of the business, Tony expanded the business greatly, developing Sam Weller and Sons into a first-class producer of
decatising wrappers gaining customers all over the world. It was also during Tony's tenure, in 2011,
that Sam Weller & Sons celebrated their centenary year, a substantial achievement in the modern
British Textile Industry.
Outside of work Tony enjoyed time with friends and family, a lifelong Leeds United fan and was an
active member of Baildon Round Table from 1978-93 becoming
Chairman in 1991.
Travelling was also a
big part of Tony's life.

Modest, kind, and generous Tony was well loved and will be dearly missed by many people but especially his family whom he loved so much.
