Gary Lee Dawley Obituary
Gary Lee Dawley was born at Community Hospital in San Diego to Bernard (Bud) and Shirley Dawley, he passed away in Yuma, Arizona on May 4, 2018.

He attended Anza Elementary School, Emerald Jr. High and graduated from El Cajon High School. After High School he went into the Army from 1974 through 1977 and was stationed at Yuma Proving Grounds. After his time in the Military Gary went on to be a Fire Fighter at the Yuma Proving Grounds,later at Miramar Air Station, California. He went on to open his Transmission shop, D's Transmission in Lakeside, California in 1981 and ran that until 1985 when he moved back to Yuma, Arizona and finished out his career at MCAS Fire Department, and retired in 2000.

He loved adventure, camping, boating, fast cars, sand dunes and rebuilding motors. Known to take off on his RZR with his metal detector and be gone all day only to return with his found treasures and a big smile.

Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Karen Devine Dawley, his mother, Shirley Dawley, sons, Josh (Connie) and Brandon (Jayme) Dawley, brothers Darrell ( Brenda) and George ( Kathy) Dawley, grandchildren, Brody, Zachary, Jocelyn, Josie Mae, Jace and Raelyn Nicole. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and his fur babies, Chico and Milli.

Preceding Gary in death was his father, Bernard, brother, Bruce, grandparents Amos and Goldie Mae Dawley and Floyd and Mae Sinks.

Private services will be held in California with his family.

Gary, Dad, Poppy, Papa will always be missed and loved by all.
