Ursula "Ann" Mendez Obituary
Ursula was born in Fort Yuma, California on April 13, 1935 to Rosalie Parker and Harry Amador, she was a member of the Quechan Indian Tribe.

"Ann" as many known her, grew up in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Saint John's Catholic School in Inglewood, CA. and Glendale Community College in Glendale, CA.

Ann worked at the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital where she worked as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner for may years before retiring to raise her granddaughter RoseAna and start a truck driving company with her husband Dennis Mendez.

Ursula enjoyed listing to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Lionel Ritchie, Michael Jackson and Boy George. She spent many hours sewing, beading, crocheting and she enjoyed hosting family parties. Additionally, she was an avid sports fan, especially her hometown teams the Dodgers and Lakers.

Ursula was preceded in death by her parents Rosalie (Richard) Wheeler and Harry Amador; Brothers: Cyril Parker and Gilford Amador; Daughters: Valerie and Charlene Williams; Grandson: Alfonso Romero Jr. and Matthew Thomas; Granddaughters: Cyria Romero, Ernestine Aguilar and Ariel Gilbert.

Survived by her brother Warren (Brenda) Flame; sisters Deborah Delgado and Ressie Watts of the Fort Yuma Reservation and Fionna Yazzie of Parker, Az.; daughters Lisa (Gayland) Hade of Seattle Washington; Frances Williams of the Fort Yuma Reservation; Granddaughters: Mary Brown of Phoenix, Az; RoseAna (Jeremy)Douglas; Coleen Aguilar, Lanisha Romero, Lucia Saez all of the Fort Yuma Reservation. Grandson: Timothy (Candace) Williams also of the Fort Yuma Reservation. Goddaughter DeAnna Rodriguez of Palmdale, California. And numerous great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Timothy Williams, Elijah Williams, Joseph Aragon, Sr., Joseph Aragon Jr., Jeremy Douglas, Angel Medel, Sr., Angel Medel Jr., Jaynoah Medel ,Alberto Watts, James Ruiz Jr., Maximillian Ruiz, John Shepard III, Frank Comet, Barry Comet, Adam Emerson, Walter Hall, Jack Bouts Jr. and Eddie Amador.

Honorary Pall Bearers include: Jaime Marquez, Warren Flame, Sidney Flame, Vito Watts, Karis Comet, Greg Comet, John Ray Jefferson, John Shepard IV, Sheldon Smith, Craig Menta Sr., James Ruiz Sr., Randy Menta, Aaron Brown, Mick Pastores and Dennis Mendez.

Funeral Services begin on Tuesday June 12, 2018 at 5:00pm at Yuma Mortuary; a Mass will be held Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 505 S. Ave B, Yuma, Az 85364; Tribal Services to immediately follow and end at midnight.
