Howard Leroy Willett, Sr.

ZANESVILLE: Howard Leroy Willett, Sr. age 72 of Zanesville died 7:00 PM Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home following a brief illness.

He was born Thursday, January 16, 1941 in Zanesville, the son of James Robert Willett and Frieda (Barnett) Willett Burley and he was the step-son of John Burley.

He was a member of Greater Apostolic Church of Christ. Mr. Willett was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Gould National Battery and retired in 1995 after 21 years of service. He was a founding member of the "Only Ones" Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed fishing and sang in "TheTwines."

He is survived by one daughter, Rachael (Rob) Willett; two sons, Randall (Danielle) Young and Michael (Angela) Willett; all of Zanesville; 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren; three brothers, John Willett of Zanesville, Larry (Shelia) Willett, of Fairmont, WV, and Randall (Esther)Willett, of Zanesville; three sisters, Wilma (Victor) Moore, Joyce (Dennis)Tabler and Victoria (Terry) Dalrymple all of Zanesville; a daughter-in-law, Lynette Willett of NC; numerous nieces, nephews; a special friend Carmen Jackson of VA and the mother of his children Linda Willett of Zanesville.

In addition to his parents and stepfather he was preceded in death by one son Howard L. Willett, Jr.; three brothers James A Willett, Daniel Willett and David Willett; two sisters, Kay Guy and Jennie Willett.

Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Thursday, November 7, 2013 at The Hillis, Combs & Nestor Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue, Zanesville. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Elder Terrence Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Veterans Gardens with VFW Post 1058 conducting Full Military Honors.
