James "Jim" C. Creeks
ZANESVILLE: James "Jim" C. Creeks, 63, of Zanesville, passed away Friiday, November 16, 2012 after a long illness surrounded by family and friends. He was born on November 23, 1948 in Zanesville to Carl and Eva (Jewett) Creeks.
He was a graduate of Maysville High School. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for area strip mines. His last job was as a heavy equipment operator at a landfill. He liked to work on lawn mowers and farm tractors. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and college football.
He is survived by his parents Carl and Eva (Jewett) Creeks of Zanesville; two children Stacey (Mike) Tanner of Marshallville, Ohio and Brad (Angel) Creeks of Zanesville; three sisters Irene (Ronald) Smith, Susan Creeks, and Peggy (Howard) Anderson; four grandchildren Ty Tanner, Clay, Hawke, and Colt Creeks; ten step-grandchildren Hannah and Jayden Spencer, Aaron, Austin, and Dakota Scott, Lacey, T.J., James, Eli, and Amber Ross.Special friend Sharon Scott; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Rae (Black) Creeks.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2012 at William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at the funeral home. Rev. Webster Cox officiating. Burial will be in Wesley Union Cemetery where Zanesville VFW Post #1058 will conduct military honors.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Fisher House 3200 Vine St. Cincinnati, Ohio 45220 or the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1058 1318 Putnam Ave. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.

Dear Stacey and Brad,
So sorry to hear of your dads passing. I can still remember how he used to tease me when I would come to your house to play with you. I was always to shy to say anything to him. Keeping you and your family in my prayers.
