Donald "Don" A. Cornett

ZANESVILLE: Donald "Don" A. Cornett, 74, of Zanesville died at 9:57pm Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge OH.

He was born on October 26, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio the son of Andrew J. and A. Mary (Heil) Cornett.

Don was an Army Veteran and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for over 40 years. He had been employed for Southeast Tire for over 20 years, was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #505, the VFW & enjoyed working out, especially bicycling.

He is survived by two sons, Tim (Candy) Cornett and Matt (Angela) Cornett both of Zanesville; two granddaughters, Tiffany & Brittany; two grandsons, Wesley & Wyatt; a sister, Rita Hofer of Zanesville; several nieces, nephews and a special friend, Garnet Robertson.

Don was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by a sister, Mary Margaret Smeltzer.

No public calling will be observed and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the St. Thomas Catholic Church with Dominican Fathers as celebrant. Burial Military honors will conclude at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, West Main St., Zanesville.
