Kathryn Odessa (Rogers) Whitehair

CAMBRIDGE: Kathryn Odessa (Rogers) Whitehair, 81, of Cambridge passed away Tuesday (March 11, 2014) at Genesis Hospital.

She was born July 28, 1932 in Guernsey County and was the daughter of the late Roland E. "Bud" and Annie (Anderson) Rogers.

Kathryn had formerly worked for the State of Ohio at the DMV License Bureau as an agent. She attended the former Community High School where she was a cheerleader. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir. Volunteered for the Democratic Party,, liked to travel, camp, cook, walk on the beach, collect shark teeth and play Bid Euchre.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Delton Ray Whitehair whom she married July 10, 1949 and passed away February 15, 2008; one brother, William Rogers; three sisters, Barbara Yontz and Mary Elizabeth and Betty Jean.

She is survived by two sons, Randy (Karen) Whitehair of Canton, MI and Jeffrey (Cathy) Whitehair of Bolivar; three daughters, Lyn (Sonny) Alfman of Norwich, Debbie (Tom) Bell of Denver, CO and Kathy (Mike) Schwarck of Cumberland; one sister, Margaret Trenner of Ft. Worth, TX.; seven grandchildren, Chris Schwarck, Melissa Stall, Micah Whitehair, Hank Alfman, Jay Alfman, Dustin Whitehair and Cortney Whitehair; nine great grandchildren, Chantel, Alexis, Benjamin, Sophia, Blake, Caden, Samantha, Kirsten, and Chelsey.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville where services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens.
