Thomas (Tom) D. Kullman, Sr.

ZANESVILLE: Thomas (Tom) D. Kullman, Sr., 94, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at The Helen Purcell Home following a brief illness, with his loving wife of 68 years at his side.

Tom was born in Dresden, Ohio, on September 24, 1918, a son to the late Julian A. and Myrtle C. (McGee) Kullman. He graduated from Dresden High School, served his country in World War II, and worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad for 29 years, after which he went into sales and retired from Kane Pontiac-Cadillac. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

Tom was an avid golfer and bowler, loved to hunt ginseng and mushrooms, volunteered for Bethesda Hospital for 20 years, and was a lifetime member and past president of the National Toothpick Holder Collector's Society. He was a former member and president of the Zanesville Optimist Club, and past member of the Toastmaster's and the National Audubon Society.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Bette) W. Spencer Kullman; two sons, Tom Jr. (Noreen) of Liberty Township, Ohio and Jon (Jessie) of Malta, Ohio; a daughter, Barbara Warren of Columbus, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; and two sisters; and a son, Keith A. Kullman.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2013 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Market and North 7th Streets, Zanesville with Rev. Mark Combs, Pastor officiating. Thomas will be laid to rest in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the memorial fund at St. John's Lutheran Church, Market and 7th Streets, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
