NEW LEXINGTON: Charlotte Delores Young, 72, years of age, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. Born January 8, 1942 in Moxahala, Ohio to the late Harry and Mary Shipley Ashley, and was raised in Crooksville, Ohio.

She married H. Richard Young of Zanesville on June 20, 1959 and shared a good 55 years together.

Charlotte was an outstanding wife, mother and grandmother. She was a pastor's wife for 50 years, 46 of those years at the United Pentecostal Church in New Lexington. 21 years she worked alongside her husband in the Ohio District Sunday School Department. Together they conducted Annual Sunday School Conferences and Sectional Teacher Training Seminars. It was a great privilege as they prepared and conducted Annual Children's Camps at the District Campground. In addition, she assisted her husband in helping to institute and conduct a national Junior Quizzing program for the UPCI. She served for many years on the District Ladies Committee.

Charlotte is survived by her husband, two daughters and sons—in-laws. They are Beverly (Rev. Joseph) Pulaski of Kensington, Connecticut and Sherrie (Rev. Joseph) Carpenter of Swartz Creek, Michigan. They pastor in their respective communities. Greatly loved by grandchildren, Regan and Ashley Pulaski of Connecticut, and Samuel and Joshua Carpenter of Michigan.

Also surviving are three sisters, Genevieve Ashley of New Lexington, Mary Sparks of Crooksville and Carolyn Howdyshell of New Lexington. By two brothers, Harry Ashley of North Carolina and Jim Ashley of Zanesville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Patricia Hull, Harriett Trussel and Marsha Stalling.

Charlotte will be greatly missed by her husband, family, church and many friends made through years of service to the ministry of the United Pentecostal Church International.

Calling hours will be held from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, March 20, 2014 and from 11am-1pm with funeral service at 1:00pm on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the United Pentecostal Church, Kennedy Avenue and Tile Plant Road, New Lexington, Ohio. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
