William Garey Obituary
He was born August 4, 1948 in Zanesville.
Bill was an employee of Cerco Company of Crooksville, Veteran of United States Air Force, member of New Lexington Elk's 509, New Lexington & Crooksville Eagles and American Legion Post 71 of Roseville.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila Sowers Garey; his mother, Betty Cavinee of New Lexington; his children, Kim (Rod Eppley) Garey Whitehouse of Roseville, Jennifer (David) Graham of Zanesville, Mandy (Rod) Sprankle of Crooksville, Tammy (Greg) Cook of New Lexington, Tina (Greg) Williams of Crooksville, Keith Dillinger of Roseville; and 15 beloved grandchildren; a step-brother, Jeff (Carol) Cavinee; and a step-sister, Ginger Bowen.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, William P. Garey; step-dad, Walter Cavinee; and brother, Dale Kackley.
Calling hours will be held from 2-8 p.m. Friday at the Chute-Wiley Funeral Home, 118 S. Jackson St., New Lexington with Eagles services at 7:00 p.m. and Elks services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Newlon and Rev. Larry Penrod officiating. Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery. www.ChuteWiley.com.

I am sorry to learn of Bill's passing. I met Bill June 1970 when we were both travelling to basic training in Texas. We spent some good times together but lost track of each other after Tech school. Bill was a great guy and I know he will be missed.

To Bill's family, we are so sorry to hear of your loss and of Bill's passing. My memories are from long ago - making music with Bill in the "not-so-legendary" Whatnots. To all who were close to Bill. It has been years since I spent a lot of time with Bill but as teens we were good friends and I spent lots of time with Bill. He was a sensitive and artistic young man. Not sure he pursued his art as an adult but it is clear he was a good friend to many and a good man to his family.
