James L. "Orville" Ashcraft

FRAZEYSBURG: James L. "Orville" Ashcraft, 71, of Frazeysburg, Ohio died Saturday morning, October 6, 2012 at The Ohio State University Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio.

Born October 1, 1941 in Frazeysburg he was the son of the late Leland and Eloise (Larr) Ashcraft and was a 1961 graduate of Union High School. Mr. Ashcraft retired in 2007 from the Longaberger Company where he worked in the maintenance department and he was also a self-employed oil well contractor. He was a member of the Meadow View Church of Christ in Frazeysburg and served as an Elder for eleven years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved gardening and being with his dog, "Dotsan".

Surviving is his wife Diana J. (Wolford) Ashcraft whom he married February 6, 1973; three sons, Jim Dean (Martha) Ashcraft of Frazeysburg, Rodney (Trisha) Ashcraft of Zanesville, Ohio and Phillip (Tammy) Ashcraft of Adamsville, Ohio; one daughter, Dixie (Ben) Bice of Frazeysburg; one brother, David (Jo) Ashcraft of Frazeysburg; two sisters, Yvonne (Mike) Stewart of Coshocton, Ohio and Debbie Duncan of Frazeysburg; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his faithful mother in-law, Bonnie Wolford of Frazeysburg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his father in-law, Ben Wolford.

Calling hours will be 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at Meadow View Church of Christ, 6750 Raiders Road, Frazeysburg.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the church with Minister Sam Dunn officiating. Burial will be in Frazeysburg Cemetery.
