Brock Johnson
CANAL WINCHESTER: Brock "B-Rock, Ones, Bigs, Small But Mighty, Medium, Brockoli Sprout, Ironman" Dalen Johnson, 14, of Canal Winchester, rounded third and headed for home on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus.
Born on October 19, 2000, Brock will be remembered as the most positive person, no matter the circumstance. He was known for his contagious laugh and a smile that would light up a room. Brock was caring and competitive at the same time, which was always on display when he was playing sports. Whether it was soccer, basketball, football, or his favorite sport, baseball, Brock never met a teammate or opponent that he didn't like. He played baseball for the Eastside Irish Baseball team for 6 years, which is where he learned to love the color green. Brock was a coach of the Canal Winchester High School Football Team and an honorary team captain of both the Baseball and Basketball teams. He was also an avid Buckeyes and Reds fan.
Brock and his family attend Sycamore Creek Church, where he served in the children's ministry. He was also a proud member of Similar But Different and FCCLA at his school. Brock touched the lives of many, from Canal Winchester to Hollywood.
Brock is survived by his parents, Terry and Kristi Johnson; brother, Tucker Johnson; grandparents, Dave and Pauline Johnson and Dale Skilling; aunts, Wendi (Randy) Bradley, Sussetti (Brett) Bedell, and Mary Ann (Clint) Lingel; cousins, Bryan Hardy, Stephanie Gardner, Brad Bradley, Brady Bradley, Brandon Bedell, Breanna Colvin, Brice Bradley, Sarah Bedell, Hayden Lingel, and Harrison Lingel.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Pamela Skilling.
A celebration of Brock's life will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 24th at the Canal Winchester High School Football Field, 300 Washington St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110, with Pastor Steve Markle officiating. Arrangements by the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, OH 43110.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations be made in Brock's memory to Sycamore Creek Church, 8100 Refugee Rd., Pickerington, OH 43147.
A special thank you to the staff at Nationwide Children's Hospital for the care and compassion they gave to Brock over the years and the Canal Winchester community for the amazing support.

I remember when Bryce and Brock were at middle school orientation and I was talking to Kristie. Brock cane running down the hall with a huge smile on his face and carrying a trumpet. He was excited about being in the band and couldnt stand still or stop talking. But that was Brock, a 120% in everything he did. Small but mighty. Miss that smile!

Pauline and Family,
So very sorry to hear about Brocks passing. A friend of ours, Dawn Baker was always talking about Brock when they had baby Frankie at Children's. Didn't make the connection until now. Brock was very inspiring young man in other peoples lives and uplifted their spirits. May all your wonderful memories bring comfort in the days ahead.

Brock was a force of God and nature and yet just an ordinary kid from Canal. His life force lives on in his family and friends and all who knew him. He is healed and perfect with his Savior. Your sadness is shared by many. You are all in our prayers constantly. Love, the Freemans

I followed B-Rocks story through Facebook and his love for life, family and God is truly amazing. He has impacted my life in ways I can't express. To take each day as a gift and to live each to the glory of God is something I've see throughout B-Rocks story. Thank you for allowing others to grow as individuals through sharing Brock's story. My prayers are with each of you. Especially Kristi, as I'm a mommy of two boys myself.

RIP, B-Rock! You are with the Lord, your saviour. You have been an inspiration to so many, your faith and spirit will live on in the thousands of people you have touched in your too short time here on earth.
