Jeanne Heilmann Obituary

Heilmann, Jeanne E. GLENMONT, N.Y. Jeanne E. Heilmann, 85, of Glenmont, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 29, 2010. Born in Lukin Township, Ill. on July 22, 1924, she moved to N.Y. where she graduated from Milne High School in Albany. She worked at Whitney's Department Store after graduating until marrying Henry Heilmann in 1947. She then spent all of her time raising eight children until returning to work at Macy's Department Store in 1969. She retired from Macy's after 25 years of service, and then did volunteer work at Albany Memorial Hospital. Jeanne was a very strong woman, and a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was also a life-long learner. Her interests were reading, crafts, collecting coins, playing cards with her grandchildren, and never missing an episode of the Regis and Kelly talk show. Jeanne was fun-loving, socially active and enjoyed spending time with her family. Jeanne is survived by her son, Henry Heilmann; her daughters, Elizabeth Heilmann (Hugh) of Pittsfield, Mass., Margaret Mason of Briggs, Texas, Jane Collins of Cassville, N.Y., Ann Heilmann of Melrose, N.Y., Melissa Dobriko of Johnsonville, N.Y., and Patricia Beauharnois (Thomas) of Glenmont; her sister, Wilma Currey (Francis); her brothers, Bob French (Pearl), Dale French (Margaret); her sister-in-law, Beverly French; and by 11 grandchildren, and eight great-grand-children. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Henry Heilmann; an infant daughter; her son, Frederick H. Heilmann; her parents, Gladys Moore French and Hillis N. French; her brothers, Wilbur and Carl French; and her sister-in-law, Carol French. Jeanne bequeathed her body to the Anatomical Gift Program of the Albany Medical College. A memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit , 57 Hurlbut Street in Albany, Saturday morning at 11:00. Relatives and friends are invited. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Albany County, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205.

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. She will be very missed. AJ

Dear Cousins, I remember all of the fun times we had together growing up. The endless Monopoly games, the trips to Kinderhook Lake, staying at you house for lunch, and so much more. I loved Aunt Jeanne. She is in Heaven now with many of our family members. you will feel her presence as she watches over all of us.
