Mr Alwyn Treece of Langdale Lodge Care Home, formerly of Newbold, Chesterfield has passed away at the care home, aged 83.
Born in Sheepbridge, Chesterfield and a lifelong resident of Chesterfield, Alwyn worked for many years in the lift industry, also ran a market stall on Chesterfield Market and later set up the company Treece Security. In retirement, Alwyn loved travelling with his wife Sheila.
He was an avid cricketer in his younger days, playing for local teams, a keen quizzer, well known for running quizzes at The Neptune pub, regarded as the "guru of general knowledge."
He loved music, especially Elvis Presley and The Beatles.
Alwyn was predeceased by his wife Sheila in 2024. He leaves daughter Rachel, son Steven, grandchildren Evie Dingwall, Patch O'Donovanand Connie Treece.
The funeral service takes place on October 3, 2025, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 1:10pm.
