Mrs Betty Provines
Clowne
Mrs Betty Provines of Clowne has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 88.
Born in Clowne and a lifelong local resident, Betty left school aged 15 and worked at Shentalls, Bolsover. At the age of 18½ she started work at Co-op, Clowne and for the last 29 years worked as a midday supervisor at Clowne Junior School, until her retirement in 2002.
Her interests included spending time with family, holidays in Australia and cruising, also reading books about murders.
Betty leaves her husband Howard John, son Darren, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The funeral service takes place on Monday, December 1, 2025, 9:50am at Chesterfield Crematorium.
Donations in lieu of flowers will benefit Ashgate Hospice.
