Barlborough
Mrs Joan Simmons of Barlborough has passed away at home, aged 96.
Born at Brickyard Cottages, Barlborough and a lifelong local resident, Joan was a shop assistant and manageress at Staveley Town Co-op Society, with 46 years' service until her retirement.
Her interests included holidays with her husband Les, baking celebration cakes, reading, local history and socialising with family and friends.
Joan was predeceased by her husband Charles Leslie Simmons.
The funeral service takes place on Wednesday, September 24, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 10.10am.

I was brought up at Norbriggs ( Mastin Moor ). Joan Simmons worked at Norbriggs Co-op. She was the assistant manager. Mr Eric Bamford was the manager. Everyone knew Joan. She worked there for many years. Fond memories knowing Joan for all those many Years. RIP Joan.
