Mr Roger Davenport of Woodthorpe has passed away at home, aged 75.
Born in Brampton and a lifelong resident of the Chesterfield area, Roger was an Accountant and Company Secretary from 1970-1991 at Erut International, Staveley, then was an Accountant at West Park Nursing and Care Home, Hull from 1991 until retiring in 2010. Duringthe 1970s and 1980s, Roger was also National Treasurer of the Youth Hostel Association and a warden at Shining Cliff Youth Hostel near Belper.
His interests included fell walking, narrow boat holidays, local history society, steam railways, walking his dogs and evenings in the pub.
Roger leaves his wife Linda, nephews Andrew and Paul, niece Sue.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, September 5, 2025, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 12.10pm.
