Valerie Ruth Haslam of Walton has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on October 26, 2025, aged 85 years.
Born in Chesterfield, Valerie was a lifelong resident locally. She was a secretary and latterly a retail assistant at Chesterfield Co-op.
Valerie's interests included dancing, singing in Cutthorpe choir, caravan and canal boat holidays.
Valerie was predeceased by her husband Graham in 1996. She leaves behind good friend John, son Nick and his wife Julie, daughter Rebecca and her husband Paul, grandchildren Emma, Logan, Alice and Harrison, sister Glen and brother Kevin.
The funeral service takes place at St Lawrence Church, Barlow on Wednesday, November 12, at 10.30am, followed by interment in the churchyard.
Any donations in lieu of flowers will go to Ashgate Hospice, these may be given on the day or can be sent to B. Hattersley & Sons, 211 Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield S40 2BA. (01246 232820).
