It is with great sadness that
we announce the passing of
(Reverend) Gregory Black -
to anyone who may remember him
from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Born in 1949, from 1960 to 67, Greg
attended Banbury Grammar School.
In the early 70s he was a County
Councillor, for the Easington Ward.
From 72 to 97, he worked in Finance
for the NHS. From 72 to 78 this
was in Banbury and from 78 to 85
in Bucks and - then - in Sussex.
In 97, he left the NHS in order to
train as a Methodist Minister,
which took him to Hampshire.
He died in the hospice at
Royal Hampshire County Hospital
on the morning of
Monday 24th November, 2025.
He was and remains much loved by, wife, Rosemary and children Kim, Ben, Nix and Sophie. Much loved also by, sister, Terri and brother-in-law Paul.
We would like to reach anyone
who might remember Greg.
The funeral is set to take place
on Thursday 18 December 2025,
at Winchester United Church
and is due to start at 12.30pm.

Gregory was our neighbour for many years in Marlowe Close. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Condolences to his family, in particular his sister Teresa whom I also knew. Knew him at St John's, Banbury and Banbury Grammar School.
