Who used to reside in May Street and then Reed Street,
in Burnley Wood sadly passed away on the 28th December 2025. Derick died aged 85 peacefully in Rosedale Court Care Home, Rayleigh, Essex of age related complications and had suffered Parkinson's disease for a number of years.
Derick leaves a wife Maria,
step daughter in law and
step son in law, 3 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.
Those who knew Derick may recall his long distinguished service to Mullards at Simonstone, his keen interest in bodybuilding and his success in a good number of competitions along with his campaigning with local politicians to clear rubbish from the back streets of Burnley Wood.
Known in the area as "Derick Dogs" for he was often seen out walking with his pet dogs.
