Grandad, we were so lucky we got such a loving, fun, caring, hilarious grandad growing up. You never failed to cheer us all up, make us feel special and remind us that we're tough cookies. I always felt us McGowan's can get through anything because we have each other. I will always remember our lazy afternoons watching films and eating ice creams, singing on the way home after being at the beach, watching you wind grandma up and the love you had for each other being the strongest love I've ever known. I'll be telling my little boy all about you and you will live on in all of us. Love you always Kailey xxx

It is a monument loss to lose not just a dad, but an amazing and exceptional human being. Dad possessed so many excellent and extraordinary qualities. He was so handsome; charismatic; kind; hilariously funny and self motivated. He also inspired confidence in other to achieve their goals. He was spirited, playful; fun-loving and a genuine man. His list of traits are endless and flawless. One of his greatest character strengths for me is, his sense of humour, and he never said no. He was as beautiful on the inside as he was on the outside - and I have never seen or will a more handsome fella! He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed! R.I.P. Dad love always Kay

Tony was one of the nicest men I have ever met in my life. I have known him close to 40 years but only got to meet him once. He always had a joke for me over the phone when I would get to call from the States to talk to Nicola. The rest of the world will never get to know one of the best men I have ever met. Even though I am not his daughter I have always thought of him as family and a second dad. My love goes out to his family and peace go out to you all knowing we will all be together again in the glory of GOD when our time comes.

Grandad, I'll always remember how much you made us all laugh constantly. Your funny faces, popping your teeth out and putting them in your hand where you'd drawn a face earlier, admiring yourself in the mirror, playing the drums with your knife and fork waiting for grandma to dish tea up and singing timeee to go hoooome when you'd had enough of us noisy lot. You'll never be forgotten. I've been missing you for many years already and will continue to do so but I'm glad you're at peace now ❤ I love you so much xxxxx

I have the fondness of memories stopping at auntie Edith's topping and tailing with Mary, Winnie, Ann, Edith, my sister Pat and me. Tony was the comedian of the family making us all laugh whilst resigned to the little cubby room on his own at the back of the house. He was a kind, thoughtful and gentle man and I will always have these happy memories of Tony to look back on.

My grandad was a spectacular man who I would say is was more of a child than all of us. I loved all the times when he used to sneak us sweets and when he used play cowboys with me and I'd shoot him and his teeth would fall out. I just wish I could go back to being 10 and sit with him enjoying a shandy flicking our bogeys into the fire I will miss him with all my heart I love you grandad now and forever.
