Air Marshal Sir John KCB, CBE, DL
Died peacefully at home on 13th June 2021, aged 82 years. Much loved husband of Val, father to Kate and Samantha and grandfather to Ella, Harry, Grace and Charlotte. A private family funeral will be held in Tostock and the details of a memorial service will be announced at a later date. What sad news. Sir John was loved and respected by all the British-American CRAs who worked for him and Myrna Roberts at the MoD. We were so pleased to see him and Lady Kemball at a reunion lunch a few years ago; ever the gentleman with a quiet good humour. He was a wonderful man, and we were privileged to work for him. I hope some of the CRAs can attend the memorial service in due course so we can pay our respects. Rest in peace Sir John.

I served under Sir John (Kip) for only a short period of time at RAF Coltishall but he was, unquestionably, the best boss I ever worked for in all my time in the RAF. I still remember many arguments with him on being unreasonably reasonable! I was so sorry to read of his passing, and my sympathies are with Val and her family at this very sad time.
