Ralph Nowe Obituary

NOWE, Ralph Usiel (MWO Retired) 71 Bridgewater NS, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005, in South Shore Regional Hospital, after a courageous battle with leukemia. Born in Lunenburg NS on October 18, 1933, he was a son of the late Howard Howie Cecil and Olive (Crouse) Nowe. Ralph graduated from the Lunenburg Academy and later joined the RCAF. He retired from the military after serving for 32 years. After retirement he worked for DND for another 10 years, retiring in Ottawa. Ralph had a love for gardening and his passion was curling. Ralph will be sadly missed by his wife, the former Lucille DeMone; sons, Robert, Toronto; Alan and Philip (Louise LeBlanc), both of Ottawa; stepdaughter, Michelle Webb, Mount Pearl, NL; stepsons, Norman Webb (Sue Parr), Weston Webb (Debbie Robertson), both of Fredericton, NB; granddaughter Danielle Nowe; step grandchildren, Melanie and Ronald Webb, John and Shawn Knickle. He was predeceased by his first wife, Esther Fraser, and brother, Walter Mutt Nowe. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Home, Lunenburg ( www.sweenyfuneralhome.ca ). Memorial donations may be made to South Shore Palliative Care, Canadian Cancer Society, Zion Lutheran Church or a charity of choice.
