Robert "Bob"
On 3rd February 2026,
Bob of Buxton and formerly of Holmfirth, passed away peacefully at Macclesfield General Hospital, aged 78 years.
Beloved husband of the late Christine Whitehead, loving father of Ruth and Edward, a cherished grandad of Francesca, Iwan, Henry and Skye and a much loved brother of Anne. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral service to be held at Macclesfield Crematorium on Friday 27th February 2026 at 10am followed by refreshments at The Old Hall, Buxton. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Bob for British Heart Foundation may be sent to:

Mr Whitehead, So sorry to hear of his passing, he was my headteacher at St Aidens CofE school in Skelmanthorpe in the late 70´s, early 80´s. A lovely man who i can remember very well

I was so saddened to hear of Bob´s passing. I had the privilege of working with him at Moldgreen, and I will always be grateful for the guidance, encouragement and belief he showed in me at the very start of my journey. Bob didn´t just do his job - he invested in people, and I am one of many whose life he helped shape. His support set me on the path to a wonderful career in teaching, and that is a gift I will carry with me always.
He will be remembered not only for his dedication and professionalism, but for his kindness, humour and the genuine interest he took in those around him. My thoughts are with his family and everyone who knew and loved him. Thank you, Bob, for everything.
