A SERVICE at St Barnabas Church preceded burial at Pleasley Hill cemetery of Mrs Barbara Toon (83), of Chesterfield Road North, Mansfield.Born at Mansfield and educated at Pleasley Hill School, she was a life-long resident of the area.A publican at the Ravensdale Hotel, Mansfield, until retiring in 1987, her interests included knitting, flower arranging and reading.Mrs Toon, who died at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton and was pre-deceased by her husband Mr Bill Toon in 1983 and her son Alan in 2010, leaves her partner Mr Eric Blacker, son Stephen and grandaughter Lisa.Mourners were Mr S. Toon, Mrs J. Toon, Ms L. Toon, Mr L. Stewart, Mrs A. Toon, Mr A. Toon, Mr and Mrs Carlin, Mr and Mrs T. King, Mr J. Hackett, Mr and Mrs D. Stain, Mr P. Johnson, Mr and Mrs R. Clay, Mr and Mrs A. Pegg, Mr M. Stevenson, Mrs C. Benn, Mrs A. Wood, Mrs A. Toon, Mrs L. Wilkinson, Mr E. Blacker, Mr P. Beal, Mrs F. Wakling, Mr and Mrs J. Hutchinson.Floral tributes were from family and donations received in lieu of flowers were for Ward 52, King's Mill Hospital, Sutton.The service was conducted by Rev B. Allsop, and arrangements were by Ivan Bramley.
