Brian Newbury Obituary

LOCAL resident Mr Brian Newbury (74), of Hartley Road, Kirkby, was cremated at Mansfield after a service at the crematorium chapel. Born and educated at Forest Town Primary and Ravensdale schools, Mr Newbury had been a local resident for 48 years. He had worked at Mansfield Colliery, the Mines Rescue Station, Diamond Avenue Working Mens Club and Dacrylate Paints, the finally as a bar manager at Hollinwell Golf Club until taking early retirement in 2001 due to ill health. His interests included gardening, any sport, trips to the races, holidays and supporting and spending time with his grandchildren. He also attended The Hill Methodist Church, Kirkby. Mr Newbury, who died at his home, leaves his wife, Mrs Yvonne Joy Newbury, daughters Karen and Allison, son Andrew and grandchildren Daniel, Kimberley, Lee, Katie and Faye. Mourners were Mrs Y. The service was conducted by the Rev M. Dilley, and arrangements were by K. Gregory & Sons.
