Derek William Allen

A service at All Saints' Church, Clipstone, preceded cremation at Mansfield of Mr Derek William Allen (63), of Coppice Road, Forest Town. His ashes were later buried in All Saints' churchyard. Born and educated at Syston, Leicestershire, Mr Allen had lived locally for 16 years. He had worked for Pukka Pies at Syston, and as a joiner for L. H. Woodhouse, Nottingham, retiring due to ill health. He later became a foster carer with his wife, Pat, for 12 years and he loved helping on the Fostering Panel. He enjoyed listening to music, watching football and Formula One racing, driving the children to and from school and doing odd jobs around the house. He especially loved his time spent with his family. Mr Allen, who died at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton, leaves his wife, Mrs Patrica Ann Allen, two sons, Carl and Scott, daughter Maxine and two grandchildren, Demi and Thomas. Mourners were Mrs P. A.
