Mum when you left
You didn't just leave this world
You took a piece with me
A part of my laughter went silent
A part of my strength feels missing, even on my strongest days
There's a quiet ache that no one sees
I replay every moment in my mind
The words I should of said, the chances I missed
I see the smiles I took for granted, the love I thought would always stay
I feel tired without a reason
Why I choose silence over conversation
Why being alone feels safer
Than explaining myself
Because I really miss you mum
That's why I feel so sad
I think of all these memories
The amazing times we had
