J. Taylor

Many friends joined the family of Mr John (Jack) Taylor (82), of Coppice Road, Forest Town, for the service at Mansfield crematorium which preceded cremation.

Born at Aylsham, Kent and educated at Pilsley Upper School, Derbyshire, Mr Taylor had been a local resident for 51 years.

A miner, he worked at Morton, Rainworth and finally Clipstone Colliery, from where he retired in 1985. His interests included horse racing, gardening, walking with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and feeding the birds.

Mr Taylor, who died at his home, leaves his wife, Mrs Vera Taylor, three daughters Jacqueline, Yvonne and Angela, two sons Ian and Jon, 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
