Mrs May Betts
Huthwaite
Mrs May Betts,(formerly Scotney), aged 91, of Swanson Avenue, Huthwaite, passed away on June 25, 2024, peacefully at Sir John Eastwood Hospice after a long illness.
May was born on David Street, Kirkby, moving to Huthwaite and Sutton after her marriage to Denzil Betts.
May loved spending time with her family, particularly her younger son Darren.They spent most weekends together often travelling to their caravan at Skegness.
May began to lose her mobility in 2023 and was diagnosed with Gastric Cancer in June 2023. She was able to spend her last year at home and her last two weeks at Sir John Eastwood Hospice.
As May left her body to Medical Science, a Memorial Tribute Service was held at St.Thomas' Church, Kirkby.
May was widowed in 2007, she leaves one daughter, two sons; seven Grandchildren; seven Great-Grandchildren and two Great great-Grandchildren.
Arrangements were by A.Wass, Sutton.

I had the pleasure of transporting May to the hospice on two occasions earlier this year. She was a lovely lady who didn't look or act her age. What really impressed me about her was that she was always immaculate in her dress and general appearance.
