More than 300 friends and colleagues joined the family of Mr Raymond Henry Jackson (66), of Alexandra Avenue, Mansfield, for the service at the town's St Peter's Church, which preceded a private burial at Mansfield cemetery. Born at Mansfield and educated at Edwinstowe, Mr Jackson had been a local resident for most of his life. He had a varied career and was semi-retired from Mansfield Masonic Hall, where he had spent many years as assistant manager. He had previously served an apprenticeship as a painter and decorator, served with the Royal Artillery for 12 years and was shop manager of Easy Rider, Sutton, for a number of years. A voluntary worker at John Eastwood Hospice when it first opened, Mr Jackson had previously been a member of the Institute of Advance Motorists and Mansfield Bowls Club, until ill health prevented him from playing. He enjoyed woodwork activities at home, computing and holidays abroad. Mr Jackson, who died at King's Mill Hospital, Sutton, leaves his wife, Mrs Pat Jackson, two sons, Robert and Raymond, daughter Deborah, step-daughters Deborah and Sally, six grandchildren - Nikki, Penny, Billie-Ann, Matthew, Bradley and Jason - his mother, Mrs L.
