W. TOMLINSON

A service at St Katherine's Church, Teversal, preceded burial in the churchyard of life-long local resident Mr Wilfred Tomlinson (92), of Teversal village.
Born and educated at Skegby, Mr Tomlinson was a winding engine man at the local Silverhill Colliery for 39 years until his retirement in 1979.
He kept a smallholding with livestock and enjoyed woodwork and stonework, gardening, music and poetry.
Mr Tomlinson, who died at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, Calow, leaves two daughters, Isabelle and Kathryn, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
