Alan Harper Obituary

Mr Alan Harper, of Bank Close
House, Hasland, Chesterfield, has died
at the aforementioned, aged 84.
Born at Birdholme and a resident of
the local area all his life, he was a retired
coal miner, working at Glapwell Colliery
then on the area salvage team until his
retirement.
Mr Harper was a Chesterfield FC
season ticket holder and loved his football.
He also enjoyed gardening and looking
after his dog Poppy and he was very
happy at Bank Close House.
The widower of Doreen to whom he
was married for 60 years, he leaves sons
Christopher and Andrew, daughter Diane,
son-in-law Philip, daughters-in-law
Julie and Penny, granddaughters Amy,
Lucy, Kate and Florence and grandson
Samuel.
The funeral takes place on Friday,
April 12, at 3pm, at St Augustines Church.
