Mrs Barbara Jean Smith of The Old Vicarage Care Home, Stretton Road, Clay Cross has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on her 90th birthday.
Born in Chesterfield and a resident of Grassmoor for 60 years, Barbara was a secretary for an accountant from 1952 until her retirement in 2015.
She loved gardening, baking, listening to music, singing and dancing.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Bill. She leaves daughter Jane, nieces and nephews.
The funeral service takes place on Wednesday, February 11, The Chapel, Market Street, Clay Cross, at 11.45am.
Please wear colourful clothing. Donations in lieu of flowers to Ashgate Hospice and the British Heart Foundation.
