Mr Barry Thompson of Ashgate, Chesterfield has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 89.
Born in Chesterfield and a lifelong local resident, Barry retired at the age of 84 to care for his wife Maureen from his fire alarm/emergency lighting business.
He loved his wife, family, holidays in Spain, friends, being part of the church family of St Thomas's Church, Brampton and a passionate member of The Freemasons, Rotary and 41 Club.
Barry was predeceased by his wife Maureen. He was the beloved father of Mark, Carol, Kay, Nicola and Vicky and had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service has taken place on Wednesday, December 10, at St John's Church, Walton.
