Mr David Gillies
Glapwell
Mr Joseph David Gillies, of Glapwell, has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 76. Born at Woodhouse Farm, Shuttlewood, Bolsover and a lifelong local resident, David was a farmer for 61 years, until his retirement aged 65. His interests included vintage tractors, theatre, holidays, eating out and family occasions.
David leaves his wife Dian, son Aaron, daughter Lauren, son-in-law Robert, daughter-in-law Rebecca, grandchildren Jack, Ellie, Olivia, Rudy and Emelia, also brother John, sister-in-law Margaret, nephews and nieces.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, April 26, 2024, Bolsover Parish Church, at 11.00am, followed by burial at Oxcroft Lane Cemetery. Donations to Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice.
