Mr David Howes
Wingerworth
Mr David Richard Howes of Wingerworth, has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 84.
Born in Hasland and a lifelong local resident, David was a self-employed gents hairdresser (Howes Gents Hairdressers, Cavendish Street, Chesterfield), for 50 years, until his retirement in 2005.
His interests included collecting coins, antiques, local history and giving talks, cooking, family, travelling and Chesterfield Bowling Club, where he was President in 2012.
David was predeceased by his wife Anne Elizabeth Howes. He leaves son Jonathan, daughter-in-law Deborah, grandchildren Thomas and Charlotte.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, August 9, 2024, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 12.10pm. Afterwards at the Blue Bell, North Wingfield.
Funeral directors: J.E. Nicholson, 329 Langer Lane, Wingerworth, Chesterfield (01246 207037).
