Mr David Kime, of Ashover Road, Old Tupton, Chesterfield, has died at home, aged 63. Born at Clay Cross, and a resident of the local area all his life, he left school and worked in the pit for three years, then served with the 9th/12th Lancers for ten years before working at Sorrells Fuels as a coal merchant for 30 years and retiring in 2010. Mr Kime enjoyed golf, snooker, walking and spending time with his grandchildren. He leaves widow Carol, daughters Kerry and Claire, stepdaughter Jane and grandchildren Mia, Callum, Oliver, Thomas and Harry. The funeral takes place on Thursday, June 27, at noon, at St Bartholomews Church, High Street, Clay Cross.Funeral directors: Co-operative Funeralcare, 13 High Street, Clay Cross, Chesterfield, (tel. 01246 862142).
