Mr David John Summerfield of Grassmoor has passed away at home, aged 76.
Born in Ilkeston, he moved to Chesterfield at the age of ten.
David started work in 1964, as an electrician at NCB Williamthorpe Collier. In 1968 he moved to R.H. Ingham for three years, panel wiring, then Trebor Sharp Ltd for six years as a warehouseman and lastly worked for Kennings Ltd, as a motor mechanic for nine years before retiring due to ill health.
His interests included ten pin bowling, cycling, reading detective stories, puzzles and repairing cars.
David leaves his wife Linda, son Alan, daughters Jennifer and Vanessa, grandchildren Skylar and Lilynette. He was predeceased by daughter Samantha.
The funeral service takes place on Monday, October 27, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 10.10am.
