Derrick Edge

Mr Derrick Edge, of Newbold, has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 90.Born at Chesterfield and a lifelong resident of the area, during WWII Derrick served as a Sergeant Major in the 14th Army attached to the Gurkha Regiment. He was based in the Far East and held the Burma Star. He then worked for many years at National Carriers, as a motor mechanic, until his retirement at the age of 60. He was a lovely husband, father and grandad and had many interests including golf, oil painting, gardening and travelling. He especially enjoyed cruising with Doreen, his wife of 63 years.Derrick leaves his wife Doreen, son David, daughter Debbie, daughter-in-law Jenny, son-in-law Jon and beloved grandson Harvey.The funeral service takes place on Tuesday 9th August 2016, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 10.30am.Funeral directors: Co-op Funeral Service, 55 West Bars, Chesterfield (01246 220201),
