Mrs Dorothy Lowe of Chesterfield has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 86.
Born in Chesterfield and a lifelong local resident, Dorothy was a sales executive at Robinsons of Chesterfield and latterly at Peter Blakes for ten years, until her retirement in approximately 2001.
Dorothy had a wide circle of friends and enjoyed socialising and extensive travel. She was an active member of Probus for many years, was very keen on keeping fit. A former active member of Robinsons Operatic and Drama Society, Dorothy was well known to audiences at Bradbury Hall in the 60s and 70s as leading lady in a number of the society's productions such as Oklahoma, Little Mary Sunshine, Carousel and Finian's Rainbow to name but a few. She enjoyed many glowing reviews in the Derbyshire Times.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Trevor. She leaves various nephews and nieces.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, November 14, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 12.30pm.
Could everyone please wear something red.

I was so sorry to read this notice tonight missing the funeral which was earlier today. I send condolences to Tony and the family. Dorothy was a lovely lady and was my mum's baby sitter looking after me and my brother. A fabulous amateur dramatics leading lady with a huge personality.
