E. Ashmore

Mrs Ethel Ashmore, of Hawkinge House, Newbold Back Lane, Newbold, has died at Clay Cross Community Hospital, aged 85.
Born at Garstang, Lancashire, she had been a resident of this area for 63 years.
During the Second World War she worked in munitions on aircraft at Preston, and as a tap dancer, dancing for the Victory Troop.
Mrs Ashmore enjoyed gardening, and going on trips to the theatre for live musicals.
A widow, she leaves sons Bill, Graham and Alan, daughter, Linda, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral has taken place.
