Gary Brown Obituary
Chesterfield
Mr Gary Brown of Chesterfield has passed away at Ashgate Hospice, aged 65.
A lifelong resident of the Chesterfield area, apart from six years spent living in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, Gary was a Paramedic for 17 years, until his retirement in August 2023. He had previously worked at Halifax Bank for 26 years.
His interests included listening to music, going to music gigs, he had a season ticket for Chesterfield FC, enjoyed spending time with family, going to his static caravan and travelling.
Gary leaves his wife Sonia, daughter Natalie, son Jamie and four grandchildren.
The funeral service takes place on Thursday, March 5, 2026, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 10.30pm.

I have known Gary since 1978 when I started working with him as office junior at the Halifax. At the time he was dating Sonia and totally loved up.
I am sending all my love to Sonia and the family at this desperate time in your lives.
Sonia you and Gary have been so lucky to have met and married the love of their lives.

I knew Gary for many years as a work colleague at the Halifax, also seeing him when out dog walking and at the hospital on occasions. He also attended my mother in his second career as paramedic. I remember we were both so surprised to come face to face with each other at her house.
Gary was a lovely person, always had time for people. I was really sad to hear of his passing and send my heartfelt sympathies to Sonia and the family.
