Ian Robinson Obituary
Chesterfield
Squadron Leader (Rtrd) Ian Frank Gaywood Robinson MRCS LRCP of Chesterfield has passed away at Chatsworth Lodge Nursing Home, Chesterfield, aged 89.
Born in Sydenham, Lewisham, he attended The Craig Boarding School in Windermere. Having lived around the world, Ian moved from Shropshire to Chesterfield in 2012, to be closer to one of his daughters and grandson.
Ian trained at the London Hospital and did his residency at the Jenny Lind Childrens Hospital, Norwich and over the years was a Medical Officer in the RAF, a General Practitioner in Africa, England, Canada, the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, an anaesthetist in Canada and Publican in Wales.
Ian loved family time, celebrations and outings. He was a keen photographer, who enjoyed cine-film/video as well as building computers and audio equipment. He loved all music genres and was self taught on violin, piano, organ, accordian, ukelele, banjo, bugle, mouth organ and clarinet.
Ian leaves his daughters Jacqueline Sarah, Julia Melanie, son Ford Timothy Ian Gaywood, grandchildren Jesse Elijah and Cora Melanie.
The funeral service takes place on Friday, August 9, 2024, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 3.30pm, followed by interment of ashes at Brimington Cemetery and scattering in his childhood home of Shuttleworth, Lancashire in the future.

I am so sorry to hear of Ian passing away.
I met him when I stayed with Jackie and Jesse for a summer course almost twenty years ago. He was so kind to me and we stayed in touch in Facebook. I have lovely memories about these summers.
