Iris Tuck Obituary

Mrs Iris Tuck, of Brimington Care Home, has passed away at the home, aged 93.
A lifelong resident of the Chesterfield area, she started her working life as a trainee seamstress for a small company on Chatsworth Road, before moving to the Midland Fruit Packing Company or Jam factory as it was known on Whittington Moor. After marriage to Jack and two children, she returned to work at the Staveley Works Central canteen before moving on to the school meals service, where she worked for many years. About 1970 along with her husband Jack, she opened the Fish and Chip shop on Heywood Street, Brimington. Eventually returing to Lockoford Lane, Tapton, where she spent many hours looking after her garden and enjoying her hobbies of knitting and sewing and spending time with her family. She spent many summers in their caravan in Skegness and loved to be by the seaside.
Iris was predeceased by husband John (Jack) and son Alan, she leaves son John, daughter-in-law Janet, grandchildren Andrew, Emma, Daniel and Jamie, step grandchildren Keith, Kerry and Natalie, great-grandchildren Josh, Nathan, Jude, Caleb and Carter, step great-grandchildren Libby, Brogan, Ethan and Ronnie.
The funeral service takes place at Brimington Church, on Monday 19th December 2016, at 2pm, followed by burial at Brimington Cemetery.
Donations to be split between Leukaemia Research and the British Legion Poppy Appeal.
