Dr James Charles Parry of Hady has passed away at home following a long illness, aged 70, 30 years longer than expected due to having a liver transplant in 1995.
Born in Sheffield, he grew up in South Wales. James came back to Sheffield in 1972 and qualified as a Doctor in 1978, working in Worksop and Wakefield, coming to Chesterfield in 1980. He was an Orthopaedic Surgeon, retiring in 2013, from Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
His hobbies and interests were vast and varied, but did not include sport.
James leaves his wife Angela, sons James and his partner Victoria, John and his partner Danielle, grandchildren Alice and Eve.
The funeral service takes place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, Chesterfield Crematorium, at 2.30pm, followed by a celebration of his life at Ringwood Hall.
Family flowers only, donations to Ashgate Hospice.

Lovely memories of working with Jim in 1980 in A&E at the Chesterfield Royal. He was such fun and full of beans! What great memories. A really caring Doctor. Condolences to all his family.
