Mrs Jean Sanderson of Brookholme Residential Care Home, Somersall Lane, Chesterfield has passed away, aged 82.
Born in Newbold, Jean lived in Chesterfield, before moving to Dronfield with her family, and then to Clowne with her husband, John. They moved back to Chesterfield in 2015 to be closer to family.
Jean worked on her cousin's fruit and veg market stall in Chesterfield town centre, as an insurance agent for Provident in Eckington, as a sales assistant at King Carpets (for over 20 years) in Whittington Moor, and latterly as a care assistant with Derbyshire County Council in Clowne, retiring in 2005 through ill health.
Jean loved gardening, walking in the countryside, and socialising. She enjoyed family holidays in Devon, and later abroad, and spending time with family. She loved her dogs and was generously supportive of local charities, including the Dogs Trust.
Jean was predeceased by her husband John. She leaves daughters Julie and Jayne, son Gary, ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
The funeral service has taken place on Tuesday, October 21, at Chesterfield and District Crematorium, Brimington.
