Jean Mary Yates of Chesterfield has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on August 6, 2025, aged 101 years.
Born at Whittington Moor, Jean was a lifelong resident. Jean initially worked at Sheepbridge Works in the cost accounts department, before having a family, then latterly worked in medical records at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
Her interests included football, being a big Spireite, walking, she was an animal lover and volunteered at Chesterfield Care Group for over 30 years.
Jean was predeceased by her husband James and son Andrew. She leaves behind son Jeremy and daughter Bethan, grandchildren Alex, Sarah, James and Dylan, great-grandson Max.
Service to take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Thursday, September 4, at 12.50pm.
Any donations in memory of Jean will go to Dogs Trust and Bransby Horses Rescue & Welfare, these may be given on the day or can be sent to B. Hattersley & Sons, 211 Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, S40 2BA. (01246 232820).
