Mr John Colin Inns
Chesterfield
Mr John Colin Inns has passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 95.
John, known to all as Colin, was born in Chesterfield in 1929 and lived in Hady. He worked as a miner at Bolsover, Glapwell and Markham Colliery before retiring in 1985.
Colin enjoyed sport and was a lifelong Chesterfield Football Club supporter, attending home matches until very recently. He enjoyed watching cricket and playing darts and was a keen swimmer and gym member at Queen's Park following retirement, well into his eighties. He loved being outdoors and his home surroundings.
Other interests included listening to music, particularly Roy Orbison, reading, watching documentaries and films, and travelling, spending many holidays at the Derbyshire Miners' Holiday Camp in Skegness with his young family and later holidays abroad in the sunshine.
Colin is predeceased by his beloved wife Sheila, daughter Catherine and son Michael, he leaves his sons John and David, daughter-in-law Joanne, David's partner Sarah, and grandchildren Alexander, Claude and Octavia, Sam and twins Aaron and Ellis.
The funeral service, a celebration of Colin's life, will take place at 11.10am on Monday 23rd June at Chesterfield Crematorium. All are welcome after the service to The Spread Eagle, Chesterfield for refreshments.

Ashgate Hospice.
