Mr John Barry Walker of Danesmoor has passed away at home, aged 79.
Born in Chesterfield, John was a miner and then retail worker, until his retirement 24 years ago.
His interests included bingo, crosswords, quizzes, chalet in Skegness, travelling and family.
John leaves his wife Margaret, daughters Sarah Walker and Katie Green, and four grandchildren.
The funeral service takes place on Tuesday, February 3, St Laurence Church, North Wingfield, at 12 noon.
